When my sister Amy first told me she was engaged to my now brother-in-law Brett back in November of 2012, there weren’t enough words to explain what an exciting time it was for my family! It’s one thing to plan weddings for all the clients that we adore so much, but it’s a whole new experience of wedding planning when it’s family (in the best way possible).
Amy and Brett were wedded in front of 120 of their closest family and friends at Firestone Winery in Paso Robles. The couple’s loves of wine and food were a natural “pairing” with this gorgeous venue, where guests watched the couple say “I do” in front of a grape field, sipped wine in the bottling room of the winery during cocktail hour, and dined under the stars in the winery courtyard. Ree Jae Chi was brought on to design the stationery for the wedding, and she blew it away from the invites to the programs and menus.
I’ve been obsessed with the delicious, locally sourced eats from Forage Restaurant in Silverlake, and reached out to them to cater the wedding in a seemingly perfect and intimate family style setting.Thinking back, I’m still craving those pork belly sandwiches during cocktail hour! The best part of the night by far was when my sister changed out of her beautifully chosen wedding dress and into my mom’s very own timeless, self-made wedding dress, which she herself was wedded in 40 years ago. Thank you to everyone who put their heart into this wedding to make it possible for my dear sister =)
