When two cultures blend together, it makes for a unique and beautiful experience. Such was the case of Henna and Thomas’ wedding in this Downtown Los Angeles , where a warehouse was transformed in 16 hours for one unforgettable affair. Henna and Thomas planned for their September 3rd 2016 wedding to encompass the factors that matter to them most: a lot of food, two cultures colliding, non-stop alcohol and a party to remember.
Henna and Thomas chose a harmonious color palette of deep wine red (did we mention how much they LOVE wine), gold and ivory for their wedding colors. The venue space was a warehouse, and the couple envisioned texture and greenery to make the event feel more alive. We hired the absolutely amazing, Kim Sanders from Art with Nature to create two of the most spectacular pieces that surely had the guests in awe: the ceremony structure (the couple also used for their sweetheart table), and the escort installation that spanned 14′ long for guests to walk through to find their escort card. Accent pieces rented from Found Vintage Rentals’ also made the space feel more inviting to sit and stay awhile as the guests were able to lounge throughout the event in one of 5 furniture vignettes spread throughout the space. Varying sized chandeliers were used throughout the entire venue, including a massive chandelier hung over the Great Hall and dance floor area.
The couple intertwined both cultures by having a traditional Pakistani ceremony, while using a portion of the ceremony to also honor the parents in a Chinese tea ceremony. During cocktail hour guests nibbled on both Chinese and Pakistani tray passed appetizers, before all going into a feast of a family style dinner with both culture’s dishes in a spectacular 10 course dinner.
Once dancing began, confetti canons exploded and the dance floor was filled with all their guests dancing non-stop until early the next morning. It was truly an unforgettable event for the couple and guests alike.
